Why the 'Commission-Free USDT' News Doesn't Add Up

I don't understand why major crypto media outlets are unanimously announcing the upcoming launch of commission-free USDT transfers on the Tron network. In my opinion, this is fake news.

The source of these reports is a tweet from Tron founder Justin Sun, where he talks about launching a feature that allows paying gas fees in stablecoin transactions without using TRX.

Most likely, this refers to the ability to send USDT and pay for transaction fees with USDT tokens themselves. If fees were being eliminated entirely, Sun's phrase "USDT gas payments" in his tweet would make no sense.

However, regardless of the specifics, removing the need for TRX to pay fees calls into question the future of this cryptocurrency itself. If TRX isn't needed for gas payments, what purpose does it serve at all?

The market is still processing Sun's vague wording and the media's interpretations and not fully recognizes what appears to be a clearly bearish signal. But if I were a TRX holder, I'd be seriously questioning why I need these coins anymore.
