Should I buy now?

Should I buy now?

I came across an insightful post on X: Strategy kept buying Bitcoin at every local top - and is still in profit.

That got me thinking.

Over the years, I’ve had many friends with no crypto experience ask me the same question - always at the same time: when a coin hits an all-time high.

“Should I buy now?”

Each time, I gave the same answer:
“Now’s not the time. Wait for a dip.”

But looking back, almost everyone who didn’t take my advice made money:

  • one bought BTC at $40 and sold at $80
  • another bought at $12K and sold at $30K
  • someone else bought at $54K and sold at $100K

Sure, in the last two cases it took 3–4 years. But I don’t think they regret it.

And those who did take my advice?
They never ended up buying at all.

It’s easy to buy when FOMO kicks in. Much harder later, when prices drop and the fear takes over.

You’ve probably seen this too - how people outside crypto only feel the urge to buy when prices are at their peak. Right?

Next time someone asks me for advice, I’ll remember that post about Strategy.

If I give an opinion, I won’t end it with that tired line - “this is not financial advice.” That phrase always kills the whole message. If you’re not willing to stand behind what you say, then why say it at all?

But most likely, I’ll just say:
“I don’t know.”

Because right now on rabbit.io, someone’s exchanging USDT for BTC, someone else is swapping BTC for USDT, and someone’s loading up on BONK, SEI, or PENGU.

Everyone’s on their own path - with their own logic and limitless possibilities.
