The paid messaging platform ReachMe on BNB Chain, once known for letting users pay 1 BNB to send a direct message to CZ, has announced its shutdown.
The idea of paywalls for private messages didn’t catch on, and the project couldn’t survive in the market.
That’s a pity — it was actually a clever use case for crypto. For years, experts have been saying that we live in an attention economy, and I think services that let people set their own price for their attention fit that model perfectly.
Although, about ten years ago, one of those same experts said that soon we’d have to pay to talk to a real human in customer support — and otherwise be stuck chatting with bots.
Hopefully, that future is still far away. At least on rabbit.io, support is 100% human and always ready to help — no paywall required. The only thing we use crypto for is swaps.
