Ice Open Network officially launched its mainnet yesterday.
Looking at their blockchain, there's nothing particularly groundbreaking. Technically, it's a chain running on the TON Virtual Machine, making it very similar to TON. All applications that work on TON can be integrated into the new ION blockchain.
From a broader perspective, this isn't revolutionary either. There have always been alternatives to TON. Remember when Telegram abandoned TON development under SEC pressure? Two major teams immediately stepped in: TON Foundation (behind the current TON blockchain) and FreeTON. The latter still operates today under the name EverScale.
While the blockchain itself might not stand out, its infrastructure has some interesting features. One notable innovation is their NoCode dApp builder. Anyone wanting to launch an application on this blockchain can create one without any programming skills.
This seems to be attracting users to Ice Open Network. According to their website, about 40 million people are using applications on this network. While this number should be taken with a grain of salt, it's impressive for a network that just launched yesterday!
Here's something important to note:
If you hold Ice Open Network tokens, don't miss the migration. Better yet - exchange these tokens for any other cryptocurrency right now at rabbit.io.
