Hermes Agent and the Democratization of Blockchain Analytics

Do you use Hermes Agent? It's a personal AI assistant that runs directly on your computer or phone, remembers past conversations and projects, executes tasks through the terminal and browser, sends and receives messages via Telegram, Discord, Matrix, and other messengers, and can also trigger automated actions on a schedule or when specific conditions are met. This is not some enterprise-only product - it's a fully open source project that can be configured to work with virtually any AI model, while letting you switch between models without losing context.

I've been using it myself, and I find it incredibly useful. Since I work professionally in crypto, I became curious about what kinds of blockchain-related "skills" (ready-made tools for solving repetitive tasks) its community had created. To my surprise, the official repository currently contains only three such skills: one for EVM-based blockchains, one for Solana, and one for the Hyperliquid core blockchain.

The Solana skill didn't particularly impress me. The EVM skill looked more interesting, at least because it can analyze smart contracts and provide a security assessment out of the box. But the most fascinating one is the Hyperliquid skill. It works with the blockchain that powers trading on the world's largest open derivatives platform, with billions of dollars in trading volume. These are some of the cleanest and most honest market signals available in crypto.

The data itself has always been public. But now, the results of AI-powered analysis of that data are becoming public in real time as well. Want to quickly check whether rabbit.io is currently offering a good rate for a particular swap direction? Just ask your AI agent. It can look at Hyperliquid, compare the latest derivatives market pricing, and tell you that the rate visible on rabbit.io matched the broader market a minute ago, but on Hyperliquid, it is already getting worse - meaning that if you still have the opportunity to exchange at that rate, you may want to act quickly.

Blockchain analytics is no longer something reserved for large commercial companies. Now it's becoming accessible to virtually everyone.
