Crypto Surprise: STAR10 Puts Holders First

Changpeng Zhao, a key figure in BNB Chain, highlighted findings from an investigation showing that the STAR10 token, issued on BNB Chain as footballer Ronaldinho's official token, poses a serious security threat — the creator can burn ANY holder's tokens at their discretion.

Wait! Does anyone actually care about this?

  • PEPE creators can do something similar.
  • USDT and USDC creators regularly do something similar.
  • The BNB Chain itself, on which the token was issued, could be shut down at any moment since it's maintained by a narrow circle of approved validators. And then ALL tokens on it would disappear.

None of this has stopped people from buying PEPE, USDC, USDT, as well as any tokens on BNB Chain!

However, this time the team that conducted the investigation demanded that the company issuing the token relinquish its technical owner privileges, and they complied.

They gave up these privileges despite having previously issued many tokens whose market fate ended in rugpulls.

This is unexpected! Perhaps Ronaldinho’s token will mark the beginning of an industry shift, setting a positive example that USDC, USDT, and PEPE issuers might follow — along with blockchain developers who currently don’t allow just anyone to run a node with full privileges.

I’d love to see the crypto industry move in that direction — towards maximum security for coin and token holders!

Meanwhile, the STAR10 token is already available for exchange on rabbit.io — without restrictions.
