In a recent interview, Changpeng Zhao shared a telling story: it took him about six months of intensive study to truly understand Bitcoin - and that was with his technical background and experience building trading systems.
Once he grasped what Bitcoin really was, he saw it as a technology on the scale of the internet itself. He sold his apartment and invested the proceeds in BTC.
Remember Warren Buffett? He often says, "I only buy what I understand." In Bitcoin’s case, CZ seems to have followed the same principle: first understand, then decide. It is hardly surprising that it worked out well for him.
Now compare that with people who invested in whatever cryptocurrency others told them to buy. "Just buy it!" - especially when the advice came from someone they trusted. Many of those who rushed in during 2025 are probably selling now.
The best advice for a crypto newcomer is not "buy," but "study." Once you understand the technology, you can decide for yourself whether it is worth investing in.
CZ came to that conclusion about Bitcoin back in 2016.
What about other cryptocurrencies? Are there projects today that deserve the same level of deep study that CZ once devoted to Bitcoin?
